Best Crankshaft Forged for $1200-1300
Hello guys...
after doing a search it was a bit hard to find out about one of the best crankshafts out there...
I called callies and they have Racemaster out of stock till 5 weeks or so...
I know that the 5 weeks means 5 months from the manufacturers point of view... as all I have ordered has taken more than 5x the advertised time to deliver...
The callies racemaster is not available.. I was wondering what other crank is comparable to that one, AMERICAN MADE, for the same price range...
I was thinking of lunati as it has been a proven combo, but after looking at some searches I haven't found out much about it...
let me know what you guys think and your order of preference for cranks.

A bit of both maybe... I am looking more at strength... so they say that there is nothing like a free lunch... i guess 49-50lbs not more than that which is what the callies crank weighs...
I haven't heard much about cola other than a few posts but I know the racemaster is liked a lot.. the other thing would be to shell out $1k more for a magnum crank, which i dont want to spend really.. i think the racemaster series or similar crank is more than enough for 1000-1100 hp crank range...
I want to get 700rwhp @ 6500rpm or so... I dont think I will have a problem with that goal but If i EVER, which i hope not, want to crank up the notch, all i want to do is put better fuel and a smaller pulley on the YSi.

Most 4340 forged cranks will handle 700rwhp easy. No need to spend lots of money on the crank here. I would rather spend it on rods and rob bolts along with block prep.
A Scat forged crank would work great here, and that's about $650 or so.
Remember it's not just power that breaks cranks, it's RPM and you are probably going to keep it below 7K. On top of that why would you want to get a crank that is stronger than the block? A 1,000HP crank is not going to survive a main bearing failure due to cap walk, so might as well not spend the money there.

The dragonslayer will hold but I wanted the racemaster for extra security, which i know is a better crank..
they do have the magnum... I really would love a callies but not sure now...
Was thinking on lunati but I have read not so good stories with it and I am not sure...
Looking for some people to chime in...

The thnig is that i want to be able to have the ability to crank the boost at will at any given point and have a crank that supports the power.. I believe that the eagle rods are more capable than the eagle crank given the l19 rod bolts im putting in...
So wanted a Racemaster for that reason.. the dragonslayer is also backordered and I believe the difference between the eagle and the dragonslayer is not something to be considered all the $ and hassle... Not sure.. just here to STILL learn....

well.. then the rod bolt change is the only thing that is in order.. i might do the 2ble keyway on the crank at this point then...
What about higher powers than 700rwhp with the eagle? i do know that intimd8 has done 868rwhp!!!!
You once said that eagle at those power levels were on borrowed time...
Let me know
THanks

The dragonslayer is only available for 6" rods... so same 5 freaking week wait...
but for the price difference I go for the racemaster...
