Why if you don't mind me asking?

Never broken a Pro-Torque, they stall where expected, have good manners and when talking to them I was very impressed with their knowledge and process that goes into each converter build.

I am not saying anything bad about other converters of similar price range (B&M/TCI don't count=crap), but I have never heard a Pro-torque user complain about something converter related, which I have heard about other companies.

This really should be in the Drivetrain forum, you will get more direct responses there especially from 12SCDNZ

MachinistOne, with that being said, I hope the people that read this post will be smart enough to stay away from cheap converters. Nothing but bad things will happen if you cheap out in this department. Just ask someone that lost a trans because of a crap converter.

I have had an Edge for a couple years now and no problems at all. 1.7 60' times with 3:23 gears 328 rwhp. I took off at least 7 tenths by adding this converter.

My ProTorque experience:

Car went 13.2 @ 105 1.9 60'

Installed ProTorque 3200...

Car went a best of 13.17 @ 101 on a 1.8 60', in better weather.

So in better weather, I lost 4mph, and my ET barely improved only due to the improved 60'. Car always dead hooked, so traction was not an issue in any way.

I cammed the car, and it went 12.9 @ 104 1.77 60'. I then installed a Vigilante converter, and the car went 12.2 @ 109 1.65 60'.

The ProTorque was so inefficient that it also caused my brand new transmission to hit the rev limiter between shifts (it would get to the set RPM before reaching the set MPH due to all the slippage, so I had to raise the shift points).

Hope this helps with your decision.

I have never heard of that happening, did you contact Pro-Torque and talk to them about the issue?
