What is better?
SS airbox (97 SS LT1) or an aftermarket cai?
And then...
Which cai is best?
K&N, Arizona, Moroso, SLP
Would removing the baffles in the ss hood help it out any?

Im not sure if you did a search or not but in doing one you should have uncovered that all CAI are the same performance wise, looks are the only difference. Just pick what you like, you'll get the same gains anyways.

Ok, sorry b/c you post doesnt show that well. As far as I know in the time I have been here and the searching I have done there are no such numbers. Just try to be clearer next time. Your thread says "best cold air intake" your poll says "what CAI do you use"
Almost everyone is going to tell you that regular CAI fine, and SS airbox's arent worth then $ unless you already have one

thats what i was thinking.
Just seal the box up good from under hood hot air and maybe remove the baffles in the hood.
I've heard of a noticeable power difference without them but its never been confirmed by numbers, just word of mouth.

I have a Moroso, but since I saw a K&N unit I should have bought that mainly because of it's bigger filter. I'm gonna try to figure a way to mount a K&N filter onto my Moroso unit sometime.
MTI claims to have the highest flow capacity, but the quality didn't look so hot from what I could tell from their website when they used to cater to the LT1 crowd; I don't think MTI carries anything for LT1's anymore, do they?
The SLP unit is nice and the metal construction is durable and you could cool it nicely with a bag of ice, but I figure it would end up with a lot of heatsoak under normal driving.
