best cam for shorty headers
best cam for shorty headers
this question might have been asked a few times i searched could not come up with a definite answer. Im not looking to swap my bbk shorties for long tubes but at the same time i still wanna have the cam sound. It's obvious i cant go with a huge cam maybe just a lt4 hotcam? ill be stock heads, full bolt ons with shorties instead of longtubes, 1.6 rockers, and spraying a 100 shot.. its a 6 speed as well with stock 3.42s.. not really looking for so much as a drag car just wanting the cam sound
Is smog a concern? For me in Cali it is, so I'm very pleased with my Comp Cams XFI 466. I passed smog and is a lively street cam.

i been reading up on this cam.. it hits a lick pretty decent for a cam that will pass emissions.... thanks for the info emissions isnt a priority but it would be nice to pass just in case
did you have to dyno tune it? if so whats the numbers
i was just looking to prolly do a cheap mail order tune.. im on a strict budget hehe

Yes, it was dyno tuned by Haddad Motorsports in Inglewood, Ca. Mail order isn't bad but it wasn't perfect. I was getting backfire pops when I would downshift into corners. The dyno tune solved that, no backfire pops into corners. The cam breathes nice with headers and a CAI. It is fun to drive and not much lope at all... there is some, but I raised the RPMs to 950 to smooth the idle.
