Best Cam and Heads for my LT1

I having a hard time choosing which cam and Heads to get for my LT1. I looking either at the CC306 or the less aggressive CC503. What other good cams are there? Im going to be stroking the motor and its going to be bored over also. Besides AFR heads what other good heads are there for LT's. Are these set of LT4 heads any good Click

if your gonna stroke it and your looking at a healthy set of heads doent waste your time wiht such a small cam. buy your heads and have a custom grind cam made.

It all depends on what kind of power you want to make. Is it going to be a 383/396? Naturally aspirated or forced induction/nitroused? I agree that you should check out some of Elliots heads/cam packages and talk to him to see what he thinks is the best setup for your situation.

with more cubes its easier to run a bigger cam that has good street manners.

Re: Best Cam and Heads for my LT1

With afr heads you will need a lt4 intake manifold, why dont you just get your heads ported. By the way what year is your lt1 cause if its a 94-95 there is alot more potential for porting than the later models, but the later models flow better stock.
The bigger the heads the smaller the cam needed for the hp goal, and vice versa. What is your goal and people may better be suited to give you a answer that will help you instead of just pointing in all different directions. Also what are you getting you block ported to, 355,383,396...

Re: Best Cam and Heads for my LT1

My goal is 400rwhp on my build up. My LT1 is out of a 1992 Corvette and its going into a 92 Camaro RS actually. Also its going to be ported to 383. So I hope that helps. I was just wondering a good Head and Cam for it that would put me at 400rwhp or more, more always good.

I would go with the cc306 cam and LE2 head's from lloyd elliot. I have the GM847 Cam and LE2 heads on my car, it defiantly hauls but it takes until 3krpm to get into the power band...

With a good 383 setup you could get 400 to the wheels with stock heads/cam. Its not the best thing to do, but if money is ever an issue do you shortblock first then build the top end later.

Re: Best Cam and Heads for my LT1

no way in hell you'd get 400 to the wheels with a 383 sporting stock topend, sorry. Adding cubes really doesn't add alot of HP contrary to what some people say. The power is all in the heads and cam...

Re: Best Cam and Heads for my LT1

The better your heads flow the less cam you'll need to get to your goal, and vice versa. Sounds like you need some ported AFR heads.
