Best brake pads
Best brake pads
What are the best brakes for my car, I do normal driving and don't race. I want the best stopping power for everyday driving. I heard about pads from hawk, also I heard Autozone pads were good. Does anyone know the names of the pads and were I can get them (if they are different from the autozone pads)?
i heard the hawk are good, but they give off a lot of brake dust.
i ordered the KVR LT1 pads from fasttoys.net ........they are supposed to dust less and be better than stock replacement pads, but not too expensive/crazy. i paid $43+shipping for the front set. havent tried them yet.

I've got Hawks'. Pretty good pads once they're warmed up. Dust isn't bad - certainly nothing like the Raybestos pads I had before. Those things were just plain nasty.

What do you mean "when they get warm"
They're fine when cold, but they tend to get even more bite after a braking 1 or 2 times. Basically they start off about as good as stockers then improve. I also have Powerslot rotors, btw. Not sure if that's got anything to do with it.
I just have the Pep Boys ceramic pads which are great for no dust. Of course I won't have to worry about cleaning my front wheels if I have to stop quick. I will be replacing the entire front end. These pads suck for stopping and if I don't change them to something else soon I may need a drag chute.
