I'm going to flush my brake system this weekend and want to know what is the best fluid to use. Can I replace my present fluid with a synthetic? Brand name?

GS610, cheaper than SRF but has darn near the same boiling points.


If your running on the street and not going to the track, Ford Heavy Duty is cheap and works well.

 

Another vote for the Ford fluid. Very good for the price.

 

I would agree that the Ford fluid is tops for the street. Frankly, for a driver about any DOT3 fluid from a respectable manufacturer will work. Just keep it changed on a regular basis to keep dirt and moisture out.
