Best bang for buck CAI ???
Best bang for buck CAI ???
I was thinking about getting a CAI for my 94 Z28. I was working on the car the other day and was amazed at all the restrictions the stock intake has. I want to find something that will help get more air in the engine. I found a few on ebay but they either looked like junk or were $185. Does anyone have plans for building my own CAI? I really like the idea of the ram air on the newer Camaros as well, is there any way that I can make that happen? Thanks in advance. ------AZ28
I have seen some home made ones where people used PVC pipe, with a K&N filter attatched. Paint it black and it'll look just fine for the price. Otherwise I would look for a used one from a fellow board member in the for sale section.

LPE most definitely! Its at least $30 cheaper than the Moroso brand new and is much better in my opinion. I have had both. Moroso comes with a "moroso" filter...maybe a K&N maybe not. The LPE comes with a HUGE true K&N filter and like I said its at least $30 cheaper.
You can make one fairly cheap. I think it cost me around $50 dollors including the filter. Parts included 10'x3" ABS pipe, 2ea 3" ABS couplings, 1ea flexable ABS elbow, 1ea 1/2" nipple and a small piece of sheetmetal. Check out my pics if you want to see a picture of it.
Definately go with the Lingenfelter CAI. It is identicle to the Moroso, but has a bigger filter and costs about 30 dollars less. Here is a link to it. I've got this CAI kit and am VERY happy with it.

lingenfelter is the best bang for the buck hands down. the only thing about it is it looks boring, however that adds to the stock/stealth look and mated to a 1LE intake elbow fools will think its stock...until they get
