Question Best anti-corrosion brake rotors?

Anyone not watching MonsterGarage?

I did a search, and you can get zinc, cadmium, and nickle plated rear brake rotors. Anyone in a cold, snowy, salt encrusted area can say any of these stay rust free better than the others?

I might replace my rear rotors right now, don't want to spend alot, but hate rusty looking brakes.

Anyone know if the $20 at Autozone are coated and provide any rust prevention?

Thanks.

What happens is the coating wears right off where the pads rub, but the rest of it stays looking OK[the 'swept' surface will still rust in time /lack of use]
My powerslots were cad plated..

I doubt very much if the regular [cheap ones] are plated..

Mine have been zinc plated.
Mtrhds is right. Basically where the brake pads ride, it wears off the plating. Anywhere else the plating holds up. Even against the environment. I've had mine on for 2 years and they still look good. And that's throughout the winters with salty roads.

Thanks for the input. I figured where the pad rubs would be fine. The rotors I have now are only horribly rusty where the pads aren't.

Anyone know if one brand plates with thicker coating than other? Or one coating is better than the other?

Thanks.

PS: I saw these on ebay. Any comments?link

Look ok.. but I'd be wary that they aren't 'plated'[you want plated, right?] since no mention of it is made in the ad..
They sure would mention it if they were, I'd think..

powerslot or powerstop can't remember which are what i have. They have the plating and are great. I don't drive in the winter in salty roads............I live in MI......are you nuts.........put that baby in the garage----get a beater for the winter.

You midas well invest in a new underbody............ instead of brakes

but anyway either one works great and the part that wears the plating off is also going to wear the rust off
