Question Best aftermarket ignition box mounting locations

Where does everyone have there Ignition boxes mounted ? Most are on the fender in the engine bay I'm sure. Does anyone have an unusuall mounting spot for there's ? I know a guy that has his MSD mounted in his glove box to keep it out of the heat.

the box actually produces a considerable amount of heat. you could put it in your glove box, or on the driver side inner fender well right by the fuse box... There is a little indention that is flat. That is really the only place to put it in the engine compartment,

aside from moving the fuel lines back a bit, you shouldn't have much trouble.

My 7AL-2 box is mounted where my cassette holder used to be. MSD boxes shouldn't be in enclosed areas, such as glove box or console.

Sorry to highjack the thread but at what point during modding should you add a ignition box?

if you plan on seeing serious power above 4000 rpm... you need a really decent ignition, but it doesn't hurt to have one anyway... better spark means better ignition. Power gains may be minimal on low modded cars, but the heavier the modding gets, the more you need one.

My 7AL-2 and Blaster coil knocked 1.5 tenths off my ET when the engine was still completely stock....

I'm remembering back to when I had my first F-body (93). This was before I knew the boxes needed to be mounted in the coolest possible place. I bought an LG Motorsport 3-point STB and starting thinking how cool it would look mounted sitting on top of it. Needless to say I toasted it..but I guess you live and learn.

mine is located deeper in the engine bay behind the drivers side light. It may not work with all cars because i have ram air.
