Best aftermarket Cat Converter out there?

for a 94 Z28?

I really want to abandon the cat altogether, but I can't because I cruise with the top down ALOT and really don't want that overpowering smell when I come to a stop.

Also, while we're at it, should I go with a Borla or Corsa exhaust setup? I'm leaning a little towards the latter...

magnaflow makes a nice aftermarket converter...or you can get a bullet cat. if youlook through it there's no honeycomb like most. it's designed to flow freely while still pass emissions. they wont pass CA emissions but all other states they will.

carsound is basically the magnaflow cat, and flow well and is inexpensive.

You can find them on ebey for a good price. I think the vender I bought mine from a couple of years ago was named performancepeddler or something like that. Here's a good article.

I've had good luck with magnaflow, the random tech POSs were clogged
when they showed up.

As for catbacks, that's really up to your preference on sound.

I'd choose corsa over the borla, but Hooker over either one. In fact, I did.

The Carsounds are one of the big names, I am very happy with my Pypes cats on the other hand.

Re: Best aftermarket Cat Converter out there?

Ya I got a Magnaflow High-Flow Cat and its great. Not nearly as restrictive as stock, and I love the way magnaflow sounds. I also have the magnaflow cat-back exhaust to go with it. Very happy magnaflow customer.
The only problem with the cat-back is one pipe is a little too far out, its offset to one side, but any good exhaust shop will fix that for you for like $20 and seeing as how cheap magnaflow is, that extra 20 isn't going to kill me.
Borla cat-backs sound nice on LT1s as well, but I would take Magnaflow over either of the two you mentioned.
