vented optispark
vented optispark
I have a 1994 unvented and it has gone out. Do you think it would be a good idea to go with a vented. i would then have to go with everything seen on this site http://para.noid.org/~muttvette/opti.html i am looking to spend under 400$ and dont think that is possible if i switch to vented
Re: vented optispark
my honest oppinion is to stay with what has worked, im new to OWNING the car, i own a 96, and these parts can get pretty pricey, summit offers a nice "gm performance" opti for about $290, so you MAY be able to switch it over, but its still going to be pricey and more work...in the end, its all about what you feel is right for your car

The other two options for upgrading to a vented opti are the MSD and the Dynaspark.
All three options are going to be more than $400.
Just replacing the stock opti will cost you about $400 if you don't replace the WP.

If you buy a new MSD billet opti, it will have the vents and you won't have to swap anything else (you will have to buy the vacuum harness and a fitting, though).
