Best 60' Mods besides DR's

Currently in my car the 60' time is around 2.4-2.5 sec. I think this is kind of high, probably due to driver (me) and traction because i spin and have wheel hop all the way through 2nd. What are some of the best traction mods besided tires and/or drag radials? thanks. Also what are some of your 60' times?

I pulled my best last night of 1.76 with (you guessed it) drag radials.

What's preventing you from getting them?

BFG drags. They hook absolutely outstanding. I'm very satisfied.

How about some specs on your car? What year, mods, a4 or m6, things like that? Automatic owners will tell you they love new torque converters with stalls. Also, if you're an auto guy, learn to feather your throttle. If you're an M6 owner, find the sweet spot to dump your clutch. Reaction time is a big part of that 60', too, so, do some reaction tests and practice.

I was cutting upper 1.8x on the stock GSC and stock suspension on my 96 WS6 Formula.

SFC absolutely killed that. I then put a tubular panhard rod and lower control arms. Got back to the 1.8s again, still on GSC's.

Put Nitto drag radials on and went 1.7x with a best of 1.75 before I sold it.

Those 3 mods will help you get there. Also, try practicing on the street, when nobody is around of course Get a feel for the way the car reacts and take that knowledge to the track and adjust accordingly. It just takes practice.

Good luck

I thought the 60' time doesn't start until you break the beam? You can have a great 60' with a poor Rxn time.

That is true, you can have a 10 minute reaction time and still pull a 1.70 60'. Reaction time is only meaningful in bracket races. An adjustable torque arm wouldnt hurt either. Torque arms are a big part of our rear suspension along with LCAs and the PHR but Drag Radials are going to help most.
