Belts........
can I leave my air conditioning unit on my motor and when I want to use it run my stock belt, but when i want to run the car get a smaller belt bypassing the use of the unit? And if so would anyone happen to know what the size of the belt would be,and / or its part#????????
Re: Belts........
Yea, the only true advantage of removing the AC is the weight loss off the front end of the car, and the extra space in the engine bay. I think with the AC on you get something like 5 to 10 percent performance loss if I remember correctly, but with it off it doesn't hurt you.

as far as turning the fans on, you can get manual switches or a program to get them to come on earlier.
Re: Belts........
only when waiting in line i have used it. NEVER when racing of course. It helps to cool off the motor, or maybe it is the heat that i turn on, either way you would need the AC hooked up to do that.
Re: Belts........
Only reason you here some people say they turn there AC on is to try and get the fans to kick on......get a manual fan switch and you wont have to do that at all. I frequently turn my heat on at the track, because I figure with the extra coolant running through the heater core, its gotta help cool your coolant a little bit.
