Won't work. Dosn't matter anyway. It dosn't draw any power off the motor. When the A/C is not running it's basically an idler pulley.

Yea, the only true advantage of removing the AC is the weight loss off the front end of the car, and the extra space in the engine bay. I think with the AC on you get something like 5 to 10 percent performance loss if I remember correctly, but with it off it doesn't hurt you.

I always thought that you would want your AC hooked up at the track so that when you are in line waiting to race, you can turn it on to cool off the engine better.

i thought you werent supposed to use your a/c at the track..?

as far as turning the fans on, you can get manual switches or a program to get them to come on earlier.

Re: Belts........

only when waiting in line i have used it. NEVER when racing of course. It helps to cool off the motor, or maybe it is the heat that i turn on, either way you would need the AC hooked up to do that.

Re: Belts........

You turn your heat on to help cool the motor. Turning the AC on actually makes the engine run hotter.

Re: Belts........

Only reason you here some people say they turn there AC on is to try and get the fans to kick on......get a manual fan switch and you wont have to do that at all. I frequently turn my heat on at the track, because I figure with the extra coolant running through the heater core, its gotta help cool your coolant a little bit.
