I have this anyoing chirping noise coming from the main drive belt in the engine. It happens more when the car is warm.

Any ideas as to what it may be/fixes ? I'm not sure if it's a pulley or the belt itself. To me it seems higher up, in around the altenator.

Does it do it while driving or when you start it up. How long does it last. More details.

Mine was doing that, I would spray some belt dressing on it and it would stop for about five minutes. I had the original belt on it '97, though it only had 16k miles on it. I went ahead and got a new belt and so far no squeeks. I got the Gatorback belt from Autozone for $20 (Goodyear wanted like $60 for the same belt).

Repalce the belt, if the nosie continues you have other problem, like a bearing in one of your accessories.

It does it all the time (driving/ideling). If it's cold, when you first start it up it doesn't chirp.

All try one of those gator belts. How hard is it to get that belt off ? Any special tools ?

Just put a socket wrench on the tensioner at the bottom, turn clockwise to remove the tension from the belt, and pull the belt off.
