There's a belt tensioner between the A/C compressor and crank pulley.

Look on top of your radiator for directions.

go to autozone and rent the puller with 3 arms with hooks on them. I had the same problem, with the puller it came right off with a few twists.

Man, I need to get some sleep... I completely read it thinking you were trying to get you serpentine belt off.

Yea, you'll need a wheel puller to get that off, if you want to make it easy.

If it won't come off by other means, use a puller.

What do you use to get the piece off the crank that holds the harmonic balancer?

Harmonic balanceR?? can you explain to me where that is located, cuz all i did was take a 5/8 socket to pull of all three bolts, but there's a bolt in the middle?? do i take that one off to or just leave that on soo the engine doesnt spin freely??

You've already taken off the harmonic balancer (crank pulley). The bolt in the center holds that piece to the crank, which holds the harmonic balancer. You don't need to take it off for an opti change.

If you looked at my link above, it says to put a socket over the crank bolt, so yeah, you leave it in (it won't keep anything from spinning, though). All you need to do is remove the pulley to replace the opti.

ibanez6rg: to remove the hub, you use a conventional (crow foot) balancer puller.
