Behold the Power of the Optispark!!!

Almost soiled my pants the other day... it was raining pretty bad... lots of flooding... unluckily I got stuck comming home from work and had to take a one way detour... to my luck the road was flooded out... and I couldn't turn around.... I thought to my self gee that don't look so bad... So I gritted my teeth and down shifted and eazed on through this rather large "puddle" .... then all of a sudden.... "Hey wait it's getting deeper" Turned out it was about 12 inches deep. So lay off the ol' gas pedal as I fight to control the car through the waters... then all of a sudden ... "Put Put Put PFFFFFFF" THe roaring stoped... power steering went out... and my jaw dropped. My car glided to a hault on the side of the road. I threw the hazzard on, popped the hood and got out... All I could see was Steam escaping from under the hood. A tear started to build up in my eye... No! not my Z...she can't be dead. I lifted the hood and watched the steam puff away... My engine was soaked... what could I expect with a car that's 4inches off the ground (I know I'm an idiot sue me)... So I go back to get my tools and towel out... crap! My tools weren't there...I was stranded in the middle of no where...wondering what would maguyver do ... so I found a piece of metal laying on the side of the road and bent it into a usable screw removal tool... and I took my intake off with it. Crap Me! there was a bunch of water just swimming around in the bottom of the K&N filter... I looked down my intake and saw that the MAF sensor was soaked... also realized the water around the throttle body... inlets... So I pushed open the butterly... lucky me it was dry behind there... All I'm thinking is that I"m f34ked if it's the opticrap.... So I take my towel and clean dry the intake and all off... Dry the water off the battery terminal and engine... Then go and sit back in my car. Hesistant on starting the car back up I sat there... wondering... hmmm gee I'm dumb... Maybe I shouldn't have done that. So I reached and grabbed my keys and turned the ignition on... "clunk" ... "clunk" ... "clunk" .... "clunk" .... "common start damnit!".... "clunk" ... "clunk" .... "damnit! Common" .... "clunk"... "clunk" .... then Rooooooaaaarrrr!!! She jumped to life.... it was music to my ears hearing the LTsinging through the headers again. I jumped out my car and started dancing around in the rain. Yelling and screaming Throwing my hands in the air! I jump back in my car and Rev it up... Smooth and perfect Yes! It's working! Damn this thing is a tank! .... How fortunate and lucky I was... If the car hadn't shorted out when it did then I'm sure a rather large and unwanted amount of water would of been sucked down into the engine. All I can say is I'm not doing that any more... Pheeeww!!! That was a close one...
