Beginning LT1 Mods

I should be picking up a 95 Z28 in a couple of days and man it is in perfect shape. All it has done performance wise is a hooker cat back which sounds nice. I know the basics such as headers, exhaust, gears, etc... but I don't know any of the specifics to the LT1. I have heard about the TB coolant bypass which I plan on doing. What are some other good beginning mods??

It really depends on how much you are willing to spend, is this going to be your daily driver? What about a good CAI, its a good start and not too expensive.

Good tuneup make sure everythings running really good. Cold Air Intake, Headers, MSD??, is it a 6spd or auto? if 6 speed get a module/resistor that will eliminate the skip shift problem. Do a search and you can find out how to do the skip shift delete and throttle body bypass....

It is a 6spd and has skip shift already. It will be my daily driver so nothing drastic at the moment. Who makes a good CAI for these cars??

160 degree thermostat, Madz28 computer tune which will lower fan temps, delete the skip shift, and you can get a power tune good for like 10-15hp which was very noticable by me with a stock car for under 100$
Get a good shifter "PRO 5.0"!!!!! Cold air intake
www.madz28.com

SLP makes a good CAI, as well as Moroso,ligenfelter...couple other too

I was hoping to maybe do some tuning on my own cuz I am really into computers and like hands on stuff like that. What would I need to tune my car?? I have an OBD1 cable that I used with my 88 Camaro, would that work on the 95?
