beehive springs

beehive springs

I just bought a 305 cam. a friend has a set of beehive springs on his ls1 with tie retainers. wood these fit my lt1. we don't know the part number is there only one beehive spring any help .

The springs will work, the retainers won't. The LS1 & LT1 have different diameter valve stem. Do a search and you can come up with the part number for the retainers.

It would be best to have a machine shop check and set up the installed spring height with the beehives (or any new spings). It will only cost a few bucks, but also ensures everything is set up correctly.

Are those the stock LS1 springs? I wouldn't use the stock LS1 springs on a cammed LTx motor. If they are the 918 springs, then you can use them with new locks, retainers and locators.

I also agree with The Engineer.
