Bret: so it wouldn't work with a 1.800" install height and 0.620" lift?

Usually on stock heads, the 918's come to about 1.750" inst. ht.

Yeah that's about where they come out depending on if you have had the seats cut, and like Rich said, you can use +.050" keepers to achieve the 1.800" installed height to be safe for the higher lifts mentioned earlier.

It will work, but only if you have a really light valve if you want to turn more than about 5500rpm.

Look, if the concepts of installed height, coil bing, safe clearance and seat pressure are really this tough for you, get someone else to assemble your heads and spec what you need.

No, you cannot use the 918 with what you want to do. They will either have to be installed with insufficient seat pressure, or they will be so close to coil bind you will break them

Patriot or PRC both make dual springs capable of handling the lift you want, and if you love the idea of beehive shaped springs, Comp has some others as well, I think 921s would handle your needs. Call Comp and ask them...

Problem with the Patriot and PRC springs is:

1. The spring wire quality is not as high as the beehives, so the spring wears out faster.

2. Those springs are heavier (50-100% more) than the beehives so they need even more pressure and rate to control the valves the same way as a beehive.

yeah they do make the 921 beehives but i would have to pull the heads to have them machined to fit they are larger springs and according to comps catalog require machining.

they also told me about the k-motion k-800 springs which are said to hold .700 lift they are double springs also they told me i wouldnt have to machine the seats to make these work, is anyone familiar with them and the hardware which is need to achieve this properly to get .630 lift with the cam i am running now.

With the K-800 springs you're definitely going to need some serious lifters. Look at the spring pressures. Also, they're not for street use, which means that if one breaks and you're not racing only, then they won't warranty it.
