Angry Bearing Squeal

I've got a wierd problem that has been going on for a few months now and i'm looking at what I need to replace. Whenver I start my car in the morning I usually let it warm up for about 2 minutes, on hot mornings I usually turn the A/C on right away, when I do this I get a squeal that is louder when the A/C is on and is quiteter when off that get louder with RPM's. But I only hear the noise when i'm letting off the gas, not accelerating. Now this is a interminnent problem, sometimes if it does not happen in the morning, then it will be ok all day. I've also just recharged my A/C and have noticed that it does not blow as cold as my friends F-Body's. The sound seems like it's coming from my Alternator, I've had it tested at AZ and it was ok, also my battery indicator gauge shows nothing unusal. The belt looks ok too, no cracks? Any Ideas where I could start trouobleshooting?

It is tuff to guess without being there. Buy a $10 stethescope from a auto parts store to try to localize the noise.

My first guess would be a tensioner pulley.

Thanks, I'll check that out first, would that cause a charging problem for the A/C? Or is that a problem I should look at seperatly?

No, they would be separate issues. You do have a weird problem as you describe it. Try to localize it to a component. Good luck.
