Bbk shorty header for lt1 lost a part

New to the group. I have a 1996 z28 with a 383 LT1. Built T56 and 4.10 gears. I bought the car as is and plan on upgrading it slowly.

But first I have a question.

So I was getting on the freeway and heard a pop.

Opened the hood and noticed that my driver side header had an opening and I can't find the replacement part. Attached is a picture. Thanks for the help. The headers are bbk shorty for lt1.

is there threads inside that nipple?

if so just get a threaded bolt/plug the size you need

If the threaded part just broke off, get it welded shut

That nipple was for the air check valve. part of the air pump system (emissions)

An old o2 sensor should plug the hole up, I am taking for granted that this wasn't hooked up to the A.I.R system, and you lost the plug that was in there.

The early years can be plugged with a 22mm oil drain plug. Use a copper gasket on the plug. Later years were 17mm. But that looks like the 22mm size.

PS - you photo address has to have a .jpg extension to work. Google address is not in that format. You also had a double http:// typed into the address at the top of the first post. I corrected that, but then realized the file names don't have a workable extension.

Or, upload to an album here:

You can copy the BB code from under each picture and embed it in you post.

Note plugged AIR connection on header.

Understood. Thanks for the heads up. And thanks to everyone for their assistance. This is my first "newer" Chevy and so far she has been a blast to drive.

I live in the bay area of northern California, does anyone know a reputable shop that specializes in LT1 performance?

Thanks again
