I have a 93Z, just changed the alternaotor today because it needed changing, at the end of the day the car was dead. Plus when i hooked the alternator up theres a plug in the back of it that is some how powers the to cars gauges, so my gauges were not working today either. I just need some input, i think it might be my starter i dont know need help im going crazy.

Re: battery keeps loseing power?

The plug in the back (bottom) of the alternator is the regulator sense line (red wire). This is necessary for the regulator to control the output of the alternator. If you don't have that line hooked up, the alternator isn't going to charge the battery properly.
