Basic Fuel Filter Replacement Q
Basic Fuel Filter Replacement Q
Having minor trouble removing the gas filter on a 94 T/A.
Shoebox’s site says to use a 5/8 flare on the line and a 13/16 on the filter. The 13/16 seems like it’ll work fine but I can’t get the 5/8s flare onto the nut. The flip side of my 5/8 (11/16) is too big. Could this be a metric nut?
I’m confused because the pictures on Shoebox’s site clearly show a 5/8 flare on the nut. I really don’t want to use a non-flare wrench as that nut is really cranked on there and I don’t want to strip it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Finn

Re: Basic Fuel Filter Replacement Q
I used an open 5/8 wrench on it and it worked great. My car has 152k miles on it and has been driven in the snow so not sure if it would be tighter then yours or not.
