How much does a bare lt1 block weigh??

also, what is the best way to ship a bare block to someone.

~190lbs. Plastic container or wood crate, or strapped to a wood pallet covered with a sturdy cardboard box. If there is an engine shop nearby they may have some left over packing paterial you can use. The big guys use re-usable heavy-duty plastic containers. Maybe you can put a deposit down and borrow one then have it shipped back empty.

If you are trying to estimate the shipping cost, don't forget the weight of the packaging. That's the advantage of the plastic crate. Much lighter than a wood crate or pallet+cardboard.
