Banging off rev limiter?

So I've babied my car since I got it a year ago, tonight I decided to floor it from a stop and go sideways. It hit the rev limiter 3 times before it shifted, anybody think this one occurance would be terrible for the motor? I definately don't want to make this a regular thing, just decided to go crazy for all my patience

What the hell is a TSP tumbler? you shouldn't have any problems with your car hitting the limiter unless your has had some tuning or something.

texas speed and performance rumbler cat-back exhaust *catches breath*

And anyway, my transmission slips very badly, it will free-rev from around 4700 rpms and on when you are at WOT. I assume it only hit 2-3 times

Well what I was specifically trying to ask is, can doing it just this once have any terrible short or long-term effects on my engine, as in waking up tommorow to all 16 valvesprings being broken and the crankshaft snapped in half.

Re: Banging off rev limiter?

This happened to me in the past with another vehicle. It did not do any damage to the motor as it still pushed up to 150K with no leaks or problems before I finally sold it. Just make sure you get the tranny. problem taken care of before you drive it aggressively again.
