a fully forged 396 with splayed main caps etc etc. probably with afr heads with about a 215cc intake runner that was ported by a shop with a blower engine in mind (the technique is a little diff when doing blower porting) i would use short duration cam with badass ramp rates and a i/e split that complemented the heads in regards to a blown application. and since you said money is no object i would go for an ati D-1 or comparable supercharger. on top of that i'd use f.a.s.t. to control the computer end of it and one hell of a fuel system upgrade (think garden hose for fuel lines and and industrial size pump for delivery). a setup like that with around 15psi should be more power than you will EVER need or have the stones to use on the street and then theres the option to run nitrous on top of the blower this would probably be more for cooling effect than anything though because you'll start to really strain parts with those kinds of power levels. thats a general outline of what i would do if it were me. maybe some of the blower guys will chime in here, like rich krause m.d. he runs a blown stroked and juiced engine (i hear is spins the tires at 70+ )

383, 8.7:1 CR, 5.7" rods, AFR215rr heads, twin GT40 turbos from Limit, Th400, Moser 12bolt, FAST computer.

If I had to stay w/ a supercharger, it'd be an F-1R.

i forgot to list a hogan racing manifold in my post. and i dunno about that 500 shot you were talkin about bottles go empty and you'd never get to use that much dope on the street.

good call monge_1 with the lag from the turbos you wouldnt be blowing the tires off as bad from a stop

Big *** blower/nitrous on race gas, or big *** turbo/nitrous which work great together.

Hugely expensive, because you'd have to just about rebuild the whole car to take the abuse and provide the fuel, and get it to hook, etc

So, throw everything away, start fresh, and wow, fast. Have 100k will travel.

Can we get someone to change the title of the post to, "what do you all dream of doing to your car?"

I'd just duplicate the engine in this.....

1,125HP LT1

383 4-bolt LT1 block, moderate solid roller cam, custom Canfield heads, Vortech "one of a kind" blower running under 20# boost, MoTeC M48pro engine management system using the optical signals from the Opti to drive 8 LS1 coils, TH400, 9-inch rear.....

9.04@155 in a 3,900# convertible.

I think the general conclusion was that the LT1 block won't take too much more than this....... The replacement motor is based on a Dart Iron Eagle block, Brodix heads, a bigger Vortech blower..... already making 1,300HP and is still on the engine dyno...... and the car will weigh approx 350# less this year.... Do the math. .

New engine

2" headers

383 lt1, 6 inch rods. Blower/Turbo pistons about 8.5- 9:1 compression ratio

ARAO (Dominion) 4 valve heads. <<<< (Game over ) LoL. with good exhaust flow. (these heads are sick on intake and ex).

Twin t54's or t63's (to start with)lol.

Cam motion, Precision, Duttewieller, or Turbo People turbo grind.

Sheet metal intake, and 75 - 200 shot for good measure.

Seperate fuel system, with fuel cell filled with race gas, and activated at a certain psi, or when the nitrous is activated.

Contolled by FAST or MoTEC. (with direct coils or a better opti).

And run it until the block splits, (which probably won't be too long. )

If you are talking transmission also, a Jeffco transmission ("street "or downshiftable Lenco). Or either a built Turbo 400 with a Gear Vendors overdrive setup.

No way Id slap in a VTEC engine and then add NAWZZZZ and then get rid of that silly RWD because FWD is far superior (Less weight!!). Then I'd put on the XLG-1337 Super wing and a fiberglass hood with a supercharger sticker on the outside. Paint it neon green, slap on some more stickers, and then add some neon interior lights...
