Thats my same reasoning. I am convinced if it isnt my EGR it is my MAF.

UPDATED-Bad Stumble/Hiccup

I changed plugs and wires, coil, and fuel filter this weekend (boy I forgot how much fun that is) and installed the MSD noise filter. This is getting me some new Datamaster logs without errors. Thanks for the advice Injuneer. I need to drive the car around so the PCM can relearn its fuel stuff and then post some better logs.

The one thing of interest, my very last plug #8 was fouled. It reaked of fuel. The wire seemed ok. I let my car idle about 10 minutes and took it for a quick spin and immediately the stumble/surge was still there. I really hoped maybe that plug was the problem.

So to date I have tried the following;
Plugs/wires, coil
changed fuel filter
Cleaned MAF
Checked Fuel Pressure (good)
Ran without MAF with (no difference)
Ran with O2's disconnected (no difference)

Please offer any thoughts. Can a bad Opti foul just one plug?

Well, just replaced my EGR and it solved the issue (for now, knock on wood). I went for a nice little cruise and didnt have any issues after having it every single time i drove for 3 weeks. You might look into replacing yours, if not, at least cleaning it.

Drove it to and from work today and toward the end of my drive I had my stumble as usual. Car sat about 10 minutes prior to me getting my laptop and I start her up to get some better data logs. It was real tough to start, idled rough, stumbled, almost died then popped the SES. Pulled the code and its a 36 Hi-Res Fail. Is this almost certainly the Opti then?

Just to close this one out in case anyone comes by this thread in a search. It was indeed the opti. My new opti from thepartsladi (EBAY) has cured my stumble. Car runs like a champ now and hopefully for many more miles.

IMO the opti change is not hard at all. The only PITA is with the coolant and having to remove the WP and clean those gasket surfaces for the new gaskets. Just hope something magically does not screw up your WP seal like I apparently did. Thanks for everyones input and help.
