bad sound, what do you think?

I bought this car a few months ago, it has run great but I noticed a slight tick that I was pretty sure was in the top end recently. So then I inherited an extra vehicle and havent started the camaro for a few weeks. I charged the battery and started it up today, and it sounded like death. I let it run for a couple mins to make sure it got oil everywhere. It had good oil pressure and plenty of oil in it. It sounds like top end noise to me. What do you guys think?

Here are the mods:

stroker crank
bored
383ci
11.5:1 hyper pistons
very mild crane cam, upgraded valvesprings
stock heads, intake, etc.
MSD coil
Some other silly ignition box

mail order computer tune

headers
CAI
high flow cat
flowmaster cat back

centerforce clutch
short shifter

ill get those valve covers off as soon as i can. unfortunately im having a roof disaster at my house at the exact same time. funny how those things happen.

looking at it from the bright side, at least the summer's almost over, i have the winter to fix it. i can cancel the insurance and save 200/mo.

any more input will be appreciated.

What they said. Rockers/Pushrods are your best bet.

I pulled the covers, dont see anything unusual. I was happy to see that its real clean in there. its a pretty loud noise. Im going to try to run it with the valve covers off and see what I can find out.

hmm

i thought i could hear something like a belt sqeak in there...if you have some sqeaking amognst the knocking i fear the worst. rod bearings. if not you will probably find a lifter problem.
