Bad PCM?
Bad PCM?
Strange problem I'm having, had car out for cruise('95 trans am 178K), when it suddenly died. Pulled over and re-started, started alright but would not idle. Made it home by staying on throttle or else it would die again.
Checked for obvious problems and noticed coil wire boot arcing to block, figured I had found it cleaned coil terminal, replaced wire but car ran same and quickly died. Happened to have a buddy's PCM so I swapped it in and now it idles OK but has a miss or hesitation on aceleration and at driving speeds. So at least now I can drive it, but have to fix hesitation problem(not even gonna ask, read a million posts)
My main question is has anyone heard of a coil arcing and ruining their PCM or should I be looking for something else that caused it?

Re: Bad PCM?
Put your computer back in and disconnect the bat.It will reset. If it run's like your friends computer it is OK. It will take about 50 miles of driving for it to relearn and then ya can fix your other problems. Sounds like plugs, wires or opti.
