lately i've noticed that my car has been stuttering a bit at idle and hesitates a little bit off idle. then, at around 2500 rpm it starts to pulsate in first gear with light throttle (i can feel the car jumping a bit). i got an SES light about two weeks ago and about one week ago i was pulling into a parking lot and the engine started choking a bit, and the dropped to about 500 rpm, and would have died if i didnt feather the pedal. i waited about an hour and drove it home fine. does this sound like the optispark going? i've got 106,000 on the original one. the car definitely doesnt feel normal. if i do change the opti, ill probably change the plugs, wires, and coil as well. thanks.

 

Get the car scanned. It sounds like the opti may be the problem, but I'd eliminate all other possibilities first.
