Bad lifters?

How do you know when these are bad? doing a cam swap soon and wondering if they are necessary? car has 100k with regular oil change (except one change went 4k, not 3k). Where can i buy OEM replacements. Only have an XE 224/230 so i dont need crazy lifters like the 306 needs. About how much are they?

Re: Bad lifters?

When I did my cam swap, my engine had 75K miles on it. Shortly after the install, some of the lifters went bad. I highly suggest that u replace ur Lifters since u are 100K miles. I wouldn't waste ur money on OEM replacement lifters. U can get a nice set of Comp Cam Pro Magnum Lifters for only $10 more than stock.

I ordered my Lifters from www.cmotorsports.com With Overnight shipping the bill was only $233.22. Not too bad IMO.

for sure replace the lifters... might cost you more than you want to spend but will prolly save you time w/o having to go in and re-do them later when they do go bad. good luck

The ones for 180 are only OEM replacement lifters. Like I said, spend the extra $10 or $20 and get the Comp "R" Lifters, also known as the "Pro Magnums"
