Bad lifter?
I have an upper engine noise that I'm trying to track down. It sounds like a rocker that is slightly out of adjustment, but that is not the case. I have had the rockers and pushrods out twice since the noise started, and nothing appeared to be abnormal. The car still runs fine and has seen 6500RPMs since the noise started with no ill effects. I am planning on pulling the intake off when I am out of school for Thanksgiving break to check things out. Does this sound like a lifter issue? My cam/vavletrain consists of Comp XE230/236 on a 110LSA(small base circle), OEM lifters, hardened pushrods, Pro Mag 1.6RRs, 987 springs, titanium retainers, GM guideplates, and Manley Race-flo 2.00/1.56" valves. Everything has just under 10,000 miles with an occasional 6500RPM visit. Thanks for any input.
