You can buy a cat for $35 bucks. Get headers, convert to 94-95 style single cat and buy a cheap catco for $35.

Go to www.cheapexhaust.com

They have a factory type replacement 96-97 driver side cat pipe for 270.00 or so.
Also I believe MACs have the cats in the stock locations with their ypipe if you want to spend more and get more performance.

Actually I am having almost the same problem. Except I have a single cat system. I am going to get a high flow cat put on. It is going to cost me roughly $300. I have to pass emissions too so I see where you are comming from.

You cant get a Catco and get a fitting for the flange part? That might cost $50.

No actaully I can't . I am not mechanically inclined. I am just going to get it done for me. I don't trust myself with it.

Hey man its easy, just find someone to weld it on. I bought a 3in Catco from the board and am going to use it on the end of my LT Y-pipe. Just take a look at the stock flange on the stock cat. Get one like that and buy the cat for $45 bucks. Then get that friend to weld the one side on. OR Just buy the cat from ebay and have the muffler shop put it on with a flange, they can make anything work.

I hate to see you spend $300 for a cat replacement, and its not even my money

On the other hand you can buy the cat and pipe for 156.00 and not have any welding to do.
