bad braking

I have just recently switched my brakes from 1995 models to 2000 upgraded brakes. the problem is they feel like they stop worse than before. acually I thought the old ones worked well. I switched anyway plus the price was right anyone have any idea why they dont work that great?
Thanks
Matt

How is the pedal before and after? Could be air in the system or crappy brake pads. An LT1 with good pads will outstop a LS1 with bargin pads. A lot of these used LS1 conversion come with bad parts too. Give us some more information.

I did the same thing to my car. If you don't bleed the brakes in a certain order then they won't work right. I beleive you start on the left rear and go around counter clockwise. A haynes manual has the directions in it. You have to do this because the brakes are all connected through the abs unit. When the front lines are taken off air gets in the abs unit and all the lines have to be bled. Don't hold me to this because i am no professional but this is what i did and they work awesome now. Much better then the old brakes.

good luck!

You actually want to start with the right rear, then left rear, right front and left front. The goal is to start at the caliper furthest away from the master and work your way to the one that's the closest.

thanks guys WOT i acually read up on it in my gm shop manual i finished the swap late last night and today i realized i had 2 problems one was my right front brake line was not sealing well,(i gues i didn't crush the new copper gaskets enough) i also rebled in that sequence. they seem to work much better know. also i didn't buy a kit i took everything off a smashed 2000 SS I bought all new GM pads front and rear that hurt!
Thanks
