Is backfiring a problem?

When my car is cold, i can get it to backfire if i get the rpms high (I always let it warm up for a few mins). Its definentally not a misfire, but a backfire. I am not getting ses codes or anything. Also, when i get the rpms high in a gear and then floor it on decel i can do it sometimes as well.

I was just wondering if this is normal or is it indication of something. Also, is it bad to do? (Of course revving that high isn't great but you know what i mean)

my car does the same thing, i always thought it was something to do with the cat warming up or the air pump running... some sort of emissions thing anyway.
