Backfire issues?
Anyone ever have backfire problems with LT and before axl dumps? I just got everything finished finally on the car and it backfires everytime i let off the gas. It's not real bad but more like a louder gurgulling sound. Anyone else ever expirence anything like this?
Is it normal or an ignition issue?
I used the search and came up with mixed answers
Thanks in advance

Re: Backfire issues?
Do you have a x-pipe? If not I believe the uneven backpressures cause this. Just a guess. If you do have one look for exhaust leaks. Mine does not backfire UNLESS I have a leak around the collectors.
Re: Backfire issues?
No AIR, nn EGR and no cats. It seems like its running rich but i haven't put more then 50 miles on it yet. It doesn't seem to backfire in the lower RPM's when you let off but anything around 3-4 and it does.
Thanks for the help

Re: Backfire issues?
I get a VERY loud pop (like a gunshot nearly) if I accel hard, then realease thottle quickly. Esp when cold..air pump mentioned earlier.
I have LT Pacesetters, ORY, single Dynomax (for the time being), no cats, no resonator, and 3inch turndown in front of the axle.
I have not let the pop bother me as I can prevent it with the accel pedal.
A new exhaust (probably quiter) will be on the way with heads and cam.
I cant explain why, but mine will act differently on this issue based on the octane of fuel used.
