B&M Trick shift fluid good or bad????
I had my trans rebuilt after breaking a piston in it. I was running Mobil but the shop was out off it.. I got 12 qt's of B&M trick shift. Will this be just as good. If not I can find some Mobil somewhere.

NO!!!!!! Trick shift is not engineered for electronic controlled transmissions!! I used it in my iroc and had to have the valve body replaced. Comes to find out B&M told me I should not use it in a 4l60(e) because of the electronics. Call them and they will tell you.
From what I understand Trick Shift is basically overpriced 'Type F' fluid and should not be used in our trannies, whether it's a 700R4/4L60 or 4L60E.
Stick with a good Dexron III fluid (like Mobil)

heh, great. Wonder if this is why my 100 mile-old trans doesn't feel like it shifts as firm as it should. What should I swap the fluid out for?
And do you think it could be causing my perceived slippage?

slippage is usually caused by 2 things...too much fluid or too little. if it's a high mileage tranny stick to regular fluid or if it's under 80,000 you can go with synthetic. Make sure you replace the filter and clean the pan as well!!

The trans has less than 150 miles on it. Pan is spotless, everything new inside, and a transgo shift kit with all three spacers. It shifts about normal. No where near as firm as I had hoped. I heard stories about the full spacer job on the transgo, and this is nothing like it. I tried upping the line presure and it felt like the car was in park if I tried first gear. Any other gear and it would start out in the gear selected. D would start in third, 2 would start in second, 1 felt like there was a trans brake applied.

Timberwolf, your tranny should be shifting as hard as you want it to. I have the transgo shift kit and I had my computer guy firm up my shifts, and now at 1/4 throttle, I can chirp 2nd's all day long. It's unreal how hard you can get them to shift. I might actually have mine backed off a bit because if you dont want your head slammed into the seat under acceleration (slow or fast) then you have to let off before it shifts. Just keep playing with it, you'll get it.

What is your line pressure set at? I show 85-90 psi in my tables at anything above around 70% TPS
I have no clue. I dont mess with the computer programs in these cars yet. I could email my computer guy and find out. But even before he played around with the shift firmness, it shifted fairly hard. I guess that was with the stock line pressure setting.

If you want harder shifts just run type f in it. My automatic shifted harder (less slippage = less wear on the clutches and bands) and did great for the 10k miles I had it. I swapped to a t56 and the guy who bought it from me went atleast another 30k on it with no problems (lots of runs at the track....we only used a TCI rebuild from Summit. If it lasted that long I don't see a problem with REGULAR type F.
