B body maf hurt performance?

I just had a pcmforless tune, and was told I have something wrong w/ maf, or its the wrong one. I took my old one out, and got a brand new ac delco one online. It looked the exact same, and was the same size as my old one out of my car. I measered them, and the new one as well as the old one are b body mafs. I guess the owner of the car before me put it in. Anyway, I just got a new tune from pcmforless w/ a bbody maf tuned in instead of the fbody that I thought I had. I have a small miss, and after datalogging, everything pointed to the maf. So my first question is, do you think the new tune will work? also, will having a bbody maf hurt my performance with my current mods? Thanks

I have heard that you can cause damage to the tranny if you use the b-body maf on a f-body without tuning the f-body for the b-body maf or vica versa.

The B-body MAFs are smaller than F-Body MAFs. It may work like it is, but doesn't mean it's right.

If tuned for it it will be fine. It is of no signifigant restriction on a near stock motor.

I am at a loss to figure out how MAF changes would affect the tranny.
Now TB changes yes those affect the tranny but in that case the TBH is the same f-body to b-body.

thanks for the responses. I have one last question. Off the line, or from a start, my pedal response is delayed. It wont even spin the tires. For example, if I rev the engine really quick, I can hear the air getting sucked through the filter, and tb before the engine even makes a noise. I dont understand why it does this.

Ok I just looked through my info and I was thinking of something else. This is straight from Bryan @pcmforless: If you have a b-body maf on a f-body tune the car will run super rich and not run right at all.
Sorry for the mistake earlier.
