Axel Problems

I bought my 94 Z28 about a month ago and it had a slight squeak in the rear right wheel area. I just figured that it was a bad brake or something. Yesterday, I jacked up the rear end to see if I could figure out what was going on and found out that the rear passenger side wheel is wobbling a bit. This is causing my brake disc to squeak. Its not a constant squeak but rather a squeak squeak squeak with the speed of the car. I'm assuming someone hit a curb or that it was in a minor accident or something. I also have a 93 V6 camaro that I don't use much that has rear drums. Can I take the axel rod from my 93 and swap it with my 94 Z. It seems as though it should work. Unless the lengths are different. My 94 Z has a 6spd and posi-traction and my 93 V6 is an automatic whatever. Can I take the rods and swap them and then take the differential apart and change the gear on the end of the rod. I know how to do all this stuff, I just need to know if its feasible... You know lengths and stuff. The wobble isn't significant enough that it should squeak with the drums on my 93. Thanks so much for all your help...

I also wanted to add that there is a bit of a crunchy sound coming from that side as well. Its only coming from that side, and I don't think that its the brake. Maybe bearing from being bent, I don't, just any help would be great...Thanks again.

That's sounds like the bearing is shot. FWIW, I got a new set of axles from Moser last year for ~$200.

Do you think that its just the bearing, if so, bearings are easy to replace. Would that cause the wheel to wobble. It seems like the bearing would be pretty messed up if it does that, no? Thanks for the help. P.S. Is that new or used for the axels?

I'm talking about the bearing that's pressed into the axle tube. If the axle is wobbling, then you should probably replace the bearings and the axle. The axles I got from moser were brand new.

I'm sure that it wouldn't hurt to change the bearing, but it just doesn't seem to be the whole problem. Why would that make my wheel wobble? It seems as though the end of the axel where the wheel bolts on would have to be bent. I'm gonna change the bearing and see what happens. Anyway, can someone answer my original question about weither the axels are swappable or not just in case....thanks again bigdaddy.
