average temperature

okay so ive had some problems with my car lately. before anything it ran consistantly at 183 or so degrees according to the temp gauge. after a coolant flush, head gasket replacement, radiator flush, cam, 1.6rr, and EX612's my temp while crusing on the highway in 6th is considerably higher. like 200 or so and its 40 degrees outside! what could be causing this? could my heater core be plugged allowing less coolant through some of the block?
any help is appreciated

Re: average temperature

200 degrees is normal. When I drive the Z" my temp is always 180-200. I had a coolant prob at one point so I threw in a 160 stat and programed my fans to come on a lil earlier and I havent had a problem since.

Re: average temperature

You could try a 160 stat.. that is what I use. Motor warms up just as fast but is easier to cool down if you want that for the track and stays about 175 on the highway.
