does the oil pan need to come off ??

Does the oilpan need to come off in order to change the timing cover gaskets?

If you are really careful you dont HAVE to drop the oil pan but it makes like a lot easier and if you rip the pan gasket then its a lot more work to just drop the front a few inches than risk tearing it.

It makes taking the timing cover off a LOT more easy if you drop the front of the oil pan down some though. It doesn't need to come all the way off, just needs to be dropped a couple of inches.
