Autozone sold me wrong cap & rotor Kit!
Autozone sold me wrong cap & rotor Kit!
I just spent $120 for a cap & rotor kit a couple of weeks ago together with an optispark. I got to assembling the cap & rotor with the opti when I realised that the housing was different than my old one and did'nt fit, so I ended up using my old housing then using the rotor and cap for the kit. I later realized the the housing on the 94-97 is different because it has the opti harness plug built in. I am not sure if the cap and rotor it self is different, but when I tried to match up my old cap with the new housing I realised the screws did'nt match. I believe I installed the 94-97 equipment on my 93 opti! Now the har has bad hesitation, misfiring and feels like it dies than starts up when I thump the gas. I wont even take off from a stop, it just stumbles and pops than slowly takes off. My old opti and cap & rotor was alot better than this and showed virtually no wear ( previous owner must of change it recently). Now back to the problem, I CAN'T TAKE BACK THE CAP & ROTOR BECAUSE I INSTALLED IT ALREADY! Should'nt it be there fault for selling me the wrong kit! This is a waste of money, and thats what i'm short on!
Yeah,, but I did'nt know it was the wrong part. I thought it was just an updated cap & rotor. $120 is a lot of money for me to just throw away because some stupid saleman at Autozone sold me the wrong ****. Think its worth fighting? Are they at fault, or is it my responsibility to tear out my old cat & rotor walk 5 miles to autozone, than match up the parts? This is BS and one way or another I'm getting my money back
Take it back and talk to the manager. Or at least ask to talk to the manager. Once they give you your money back......never go back to Autozone!!!!! There stuff is junk, their counterpeople can't use catalogs, and if you search I'm sure you will find other complaints about them as well.
I go to NAPA when I am in need of an application type parts (cap & rotor). Their people at least seem to know more about cars for the most part. Besides NAPA sells to more repair facilities than any parts store so I would hope they have better stuff. Autozone is only good if you are needing something that Wal-Mart has!
JMHO

I did, they said that becase it was installed and ran in the car, that it would be no good for resale. I got pissed when I heard and told them to check there f*cking inventory before selling it and ripping off non deserving customers!
The manager mumbled some sh*t under his breath as I was walking out which made me wanna rip him a new one, but that would totally void my court case!
