Exclamation Autometer elec F/P guage stoped working! HELP

I recently installed a brand new Autometer Ultra Lite Full Sweep Electric F/P guage. The guage was installed correctly and worked for about a week with no problems. Read perfect F/P, and fluctuated with throttle correctly. Yesterday, while driving, the guage just froze. Now its stuck at 41 psi and doesnt move. I disconnected all the wiring from it, and it still is stuck in the same position. When I first tested it, whenever i unhooked it, it would go back to 0. But it still stays at 41 unhooked or not. All the wiring was tested and fine.

My question is, would Autometer honor their warranty and replace it? Does it sound like a manufacturer problem? And has anyone had this problem before?

Any help is greatly apreciated

TIA

The two possibilities I see is either that the needle got caught. which of course would pretty much go down as a design flaw, and they SHOULD honor it. That other possibility is that you had it hooked to an unregulated source of power, like directly from the battery. This would cause voltage spikes over time and eventually warp the spring
