Which Autolite plug for this setup?
Getting ready to do plugs in the LT1 again. I have Autolite 106's
in there right now. I like them, I just want to know if they are the best application for my set up, 95 Z
CC306
GTP Stage II heads
Vigi 2800
MSD 6A, Blaster GM coil
And more, etc. I just know that the heads and cam are the most
important factor!
BTW, what should the gap be? I think mine are at .35 right now.
Thanks!!
Need to know ASAP!

The 106's are fine for your setup, unless your using nitrous, but I would recommend the platinum, or double platinums. Ive got the regular 106's in now, but Im going to change them soon to the platinum 106's and Im pleased with the Autolites so far as well, and I switched from NGK's, which I was not impressed with them at all.

Personally I would widen the gap back out to .040 or so. .035 is pretty much the norm on nitrous motors when blowing out the spark is a concern, so it's probably a tad tight for a NA motor.

Chiltons says .35 for a 95 Z28. Now, you may be thinking about the 95 3.4, which says .45 gap.

.035??? The stock GAP is .050, so I wouldnt go lower than .045. The platinum plugs are what came stock in the LT1's(Delco's) and they last longer and will get you better gas mileage, performance..etc., just overall a better plug.

The reason I asked is b/c Chiltons says .35 for a 95Z. Are you suggesting .40-45 b/c of my CC306?

Like I said, I am not disagreeing, just trying to figure out why this manual says different.

Has to be a typo. My Hayes manual says .050 along with my car manual.

If anyone else has a Chiltons, check it out.
