Auto Trans issues. Whats the problem?

Auto Trans issues. Whats the problem?
My 4L60E makes a loud thump and jerks the car real hard into second gear. What is causing this, do i need a rebuild?

I'm not the trans expert, i'd let the shop diagnos the problem. Could be the 1st to 2nd clutch drum starting to slip, than when it grabs it shifts hard. Just a thought

I think there is some kinda module on the side of the trans on your car.Maybe it's going south.I don't have the E trans so I'm just going by previous posts I think.My02

check the transmission mount, i had the same thing. When ou punch it it sounds like something exploded

Loose tranny mount will do that.
