Arrow Auto guys... what is your oil pressure at idle?

I'm mainly interested in some input from people with an internally stock engine. What PSIs are you seeing at idle/in drive (but stopped) when the engine is fully warmed up and what's your mileage?
Thanks!

mine is at about 25 psi in neutral, and fully warmed about 20-25, just depends...as far as mileage, thats a joke, my PCM is untuned with the hotcam kit, and bolt ons, I can smell raw fuel sometimes!

my oil pressure hasnt changed since i did the heads/cam. i run 20-25 when at 900rpm. it goes to 35-40 around 1500rpm, and runs 45 when cruising at 2300rpm....

now whens its cold it stays around 60 until it gets warm.

hope this helps madwolf.....

my buddies 94z does the same

Mine is the same... I have a stock engine with 130K miles on the clock. I see around 15-20 psi at idle and 45 when cruising. It was freaking me out when I bought the car so I changed the oil from whateverLube it had to Royal Purple synthetics and noticed it would stay at a much higher pressure when it warmed up.

So, I would say this is normal now from reading the posts. I do not worry about it with the Royal Purple in it. Not at all...

I think mine sometimes runs below the 20 mark when fully warm. I was running Mobil 1 synthetic 5w-30 but recently switched to 10w-30 and saw a slight increase. 76K on stock block

I am the about the same with you guys except for that time when I had Mobil 1, The needle would be lower and specially at idle down to almost nothing.

ok i think i got a problem then...

I just changed my oil cause the presure was too low (new car for me 85K miles)

and at idle it was staying strickly in front of the red line.

now its probably about 5 or 8 psi... why is mine so low?

i mean once the rpms go up it will move over but should it be that low at idle?

Well a difference is that a stock A4 idles ~250 rpms lower than an M6 in gear and 150 in neutral...

The 94 engine I just swapped in my 93 used to go to as low as 10 PSI. That was on the cheapest Walmart oil available. (I needed something to start the engine on) Then I switched to Mobil conventional oil and the oil went to about 16-18 PSI lowest.
So I was just curious if this is normal or not...

FWIW, my stock '95 6 speed used to stay around 22+ PSI at idle.
