assembling a short block???

i know its not that dificult, but i bet its not to hard to mess up either. i just got my block back from the machinist so its all set to be assembled

i guess im just asking if there is any preparation besides just lubing the hell out of everything? also what kind of lube should i use? is a different kind for different applications? or is assembly lube assembly lube?

any help or other hints that i didnt even ask about would be great.

thanks a lot

If you never have done this before, you might want to have a reference book like

A factory service manual is also helpful.
