Angry ASP Pulley Squeek!!!

I just threw on a set of the ASP pulleys. Work great except for the fact that when ever my car shifts gears, or I rev it up. It makes this ungodly loud peircing noise. Like the belt is slipping! I just replaced my belt tensioner, still makes the noise. I used belt dressing...kinda went away..wasn't as loud...but then the next day it comes back. What the hell is wrong with the pulleys! Anybody have any ideas? A bad belt perhaps?

You could try another belt...it sounds like that one may be slipping (or your alternator, or PS pump, or AC pump may be seizing up). However, even with a new belt, mine has always made the chirping sound on WOT 1-2 shifts.

you can hear your belt assembly over your exhaust at WOT? you need a louder exhaust in that case

Try a new belt, the belt dressing will work as long as you keep applying it but its only a temp. thing.

Did you replace the belt with shorter one?

With power pulleys and some aftermarket ones you need a shorter belt. Smaller dia. = shorter belt

Basically, and this is me because i deal with a transplant, I get under the car, jackstands for safety and whatnot, get a breaker bar with a 13 mm socket, make a mark with a sharpie on the tensioner portion that moves and the part that dont, take off the belt and see how far it moves. If it is under about a 1/4 of an inch think about a shorter belt. I like to put the tensionier in the middle of the travel figure out the length from there.
