ASM Header Guys

Anyone having any clearance issues with the Y-Pipe Collector??? After the new motor and everything, I'm having some issues with it. Basically, it's now almost touching the floor pan just sitting there. The flange on the Y-Pipe collector/ORP is almost touching I should say. Any type of engine torquing acceleration or rouch shifting and it bangs the floor pan.

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and if any resolution was met. Thanks.

Neither did I until I had the motor out and back in. I'm wondering if there's an adjustment to the motor mount that needs to be done. I may be able to back the collector off some and angle it downwards some, but that's about my only option and I'll most likely end up with a leak at the collector if I do that.

Nope, I've never had any problems with mine. But, unlike you I've never pulled my motor out. Though I'm sure that technically I have with all of the repairs and mods that I've done on it. I would try to readjust the motor mounts though before I'd mess with the collector. I hate exhaust leaks! Good luck man.

Re: ASM Header Guys

my header colectors and the y pipe collector both hit on my car after i first
installed the headers. Your motor mounts are more than likely sagging pretty good. I put a pair of poly mounts in and it has been fine ever since.. Good luck- Rob

Hopefully I can adjust it. I really don't want to deal with chaging the motor mounts yet. It's always something with that car.

Did you get the slip tube on all the way?

Yeah, and that's where the problem lies. When it was on all the way, you could look at the flange and tell is was pointing upwards. Next opportunity I get I"m going to put the car on a lift and make some adjustments to it.
